This is a guilty pleasure of mine, naughty Twins and smut! I also adore this authors story, Erestor Kitty, makes me giggle every time! Erestor gets tired of waiting on his mate, Glorfindel and decides to see what he has been missing, features a possessive Glorfindel and the follow-ups have hot, hot!!! desk sex:-)

This tale gives me hope of still being completed, last updated in April of this year! One of my earliest remembered favorites and a series that made Elrond one of my favorite all time Elves. The author writes beautiful of his suffering and captures his noble character. If its new to you, run read now! If like me its an old, old favorite, then its time for a retread!!!

There’s still time to sign up for the mid-summer FP Slashy Santa exchange! [22 Mar 2007|02:12pm]

ex_fimbreth

That’s right, it’s time for ‘JingleBells in June 2007,’ the second annual mid-season fiction exchange, brought to your fandom by the same folks who sponsor the renowned Slashy Santa Fiction Exchange.

Sign-ups will close at midnight (GMT-5:00) on Monday, March 26, 2007.  All stories will be unveiled on the http://www.geocities.com/slashysanta/ site on Monday, June 25, 2007.

This year, the exchange will focus solely on the fantasy world of J.R.R. Tolkien.  Whether it’s Elves, Men, Valar, Maiar, Hobbits, or Dwarves (or even Orcs!) that strike your fancy – from the First Age to the Fourth – spread the word, recruit your friends and fellow authors, and have some fun!

How does a fiction exchange work?  It’s simple.  Sign up at http://www.geocities.com/slashysanta/signup.html to specify a pairing, rating, and the plot elements you would like to read, as well as the elements you are willing to write, and someone will write a story for you.  In exchange, you will write a story for someone else using the specifications they provide.  All stories will be submitted directly to the swap coordinators – you will not know whom you are writing for, nor will you know who has your request, until all fiction is posted on the Slashy Santa website.

Even if you don’t want to take part in the exchange, you can still elect to be a reserve writer to be called upon in case of an emergency.  Just say so on the signup form.

All we ask is that you adhere to some basic rules – If you sign up, please make sure that you can follow through and write at least 1,200 words.  Please note also that this is a SLASH only FPS exchange (no Real Person or HET, please).  Visit  http://geocities.com/slashysanta/rules.html for the full set of rules and Frequently Asked Questions.

Here are some important dates to make note of:

**Sign-up period:  March 12 - 26

**Assignments to be distributed:  by April 9

**Deadline for story submissions:  June 4

**Publication Date:  June 25

Come check out our site at http://www.geocities.com/slashysanta/ and peruse some of the past entries – they’re terrific and will give you an idea of what’s in store!

Gifts of Silver [03 Mar 2007|05:47pm]

Well Fim, you wanted recs! ;D

I've lost count of how many times I've read this one and yet it never loses appeal. The way Rúmil and Orophin interact is just so natural and beautiful. The OFC is wonderful too and not sue-ish in the least. All the characters just come alive from the moment the story starts. Absolutely wonderful.

Second Chances [26 Feb 2007|03:22am]

[ mood | nauseated ]

I can't believe this one hasn't been retread yet! Its by one of the fandoms staple writers, everything this lady turns out is wonderful and her knowledge of canon is second to none. The writing is excellent, and the details, emotions, and story lines are the best in the fandom.

Why I like this one? It shows of side of Feanor that Tolkien did not show us, and of course it has her Thranduil, who you fall in love with in every story she writes about him.

Glorfindel's Gift by Fimbrethiel

Why I love this story? Hell that's easy!

Cause it was written for me!!!!!!

No seriously, its beautiful, the writing is pure Fim, which means the words flow smoothly like very, very good liquor. The imagery, you are there, a witness to the hot interaction between my two favorites, Erestor and Glorfindel. Its wonderful!

"Re-treading" Some Humor... [27 Jan 2007|06:16am]

ennorwen
In looking through my fave fanfic list, I've discovered that most of the larger stories that I love have already been "re-treaded," but for two - one a collaboration between fimbrethiel and sian265, and one by eresse, but I'm not re-treading those today. Today, I'm recommending a little humor. I think nearly all of this author's ouvre is wonderful, but this story makes me laugh everytime I read it and I think I've almost spewed my coffee re-reading it again.

The story is called, "Huh?" and it's by Tongue in Cheek Scribe, otherwise known as TICS.

It can be found at adultfanfiction.net, but I'll link to dreamelf where it seems easiest to read: HERE,

It's Erestor/Glorfindel - NC-17 - it is a little OOC, I guess, at first, with a tongue-tied Erestor mooning over the Golden Warrior. With a wonderfully patient and persistent Glorfindel, to bring him dinner and um, a little more...Let's just say by the end of the evening "a little more", becomes much, much more...and Erestor's tongue is unleashed. Slight Warning: The dreaded "elfhood" is used herein, but don't let it stop you from reading. It is VERY FUNNY! And it's only about five pages.

Enjoy!

[25 Jan 2007|02:49pm]

lotrangel17
When I first started out reading LOTR slash my pairing was of course Aragorn and Legolas - I had not read the books yet so all I new were Viggo and Orlando. Once I read Anywhere on My Own it led me to a sequel with a Legolas/Haldir story and off I went from there.

I guess the reason I love these two stories is because what starts out in Anywhere with what is heartbreak for Aragorn and Legolas turns into love in Wake with Leoglas and Haldir. Okay and I LOVE Laschal :)

Anywhere On My Own
By Orchyd Constyne
rating - NC-17
pairing - Aragorn/Legolas
Summary: Legolas must come to terms with the futility of his love for
Aragorn and the future King must accept that the Elven-Prince cannot
be his.

Anywhere on My Own @ LOM

The Wake of A Mistake
By Orchyd Constyne
rating - NC-17
pairing - Legolas/Haldir
Summary: Haldir has come as Legolas hoped, but is the Prince ready to
love again, even if it is his first love that asks for it?

The Wake of a Mistake @ LOM

Enjoy!

Classic Wrap-around time-travel LOTR Epic! [25 Jan 2007|01:11am]

ana_lib_elf
[ mood | good ]

Probably familiar to many, this epic is an all-around enthralling tale, well worth re-reading on many levels.

Pecos "Beyond the Far Horizon" is a classic A/L adventure that takes off from a LOTR canon moment and vaults into time travel, heroic suffering, slash, het, wonderful horses, and many original elements ---- including a journey that takes our boys into the 20th century to meet --- well --- you can probably guess *who* --- but also imagine Saruman along for the ride into WW2 England and the U.S.

There are wonderful plot twists and touching moments of love and sacrifice that make this a great read. Check out the author's web page at: http://www.chimerafic.com/ and explore the FPS section. Her RPS is also quite amazing (featuring mainly V/O and managing to slash just about *all* the LOTR cast *g*) --- but that's another story --- so only one selection per post I reckon! Enjoy --- and be prepared for a sleepless night!

Cheers and Blessings for the New Year. Ana Library Elf

Come Morning by Sian [24 Jan 2007|11:03pm]

keiliss
[ mood | busy ]

Title: Come Morning
Author: Sian
rating: NC-17
Pairing : Erestor/Glorfindel
Warnings: non con.

http://www.monjouet.net/

Why do I like this? I don't usually read rape or non con, but this story is the exception Rape, recovery, healing and eventual forgiveness - Erestor's responses to a very dark experience are wonderfully authentic and I loved the portrayal of Elrond as a healer of souls as well as minds. And of course it has a happy ending.

(and if this went through twice I apologise - my computer did a strange thing)

ADMIN: It's open rec season! [24 Jan 2007|09:25am]

ex_fimbreth
[ mood | curious ]

Hi folks!

We hope you’ve all been enjoying the retreads!  Now that you’ve had a chance to read some of our favorite fiction, we thought we would try something different and find out what YOU like.

Starting today, for the next two months we will be opening up the Retread community to the members.

Most anything goes, whether it’s FP or RP, new or old, slash, het, femslash, or gen, as long as the story you’re recommending features either The Lord of the Rings fictional book or movie characters or the actors who portray them.

We would, however, like to mention one important point.  Posts will be modded.

Now, before anyone freaks out, there are two very simple reasons for turning on moderated posting (assuming we can get it to work as planned!).  We want to be very clear that we have no intention of censoring or restricting postings to certain authors or genres.

First, we want to eliminate duplicate recs.  If there are multiple recs for the same story, we’ll give credit to both of the submitters. Second, by moderating the posts, we can release a rec every two to three days, simply to avoid having an influx at the beginning and none at the end.

Both ‘Of Elves and Men’ and ‘Library of Moria’, as well as a few authors, have given blanket permission to link to their archives.  If you are not linking to either OEAM or LoM, please use courtesy and attempt to contact the respective authors if you are linking to their personal websites or another archive.

Remember to include the story name, author, rating, pairing (or characters for genfic) and a few words about why you like the story.  Most importantly, remember to include a link where the story can be found.  If you have trouble posting, please email one of us and we’ll check the community settings.

Start poring over those archives and share some of your own favorites!  Ready, set, GO!

ford_of_bruinen: This Was My Choice [22 Jan 2007|10:36am]

ex_fimbreth
[ mood | contemplative ]

Title:  This Was My Choice
Author: ford_of_bruinen

Pairing/cast of characters: Erestor/Glorfindel, Elrond, Elladan, Elrohir, Celeborn and Galadriel with short appearances of others.

Rating:  NC-17

Summary:  The war of the ring is over and the third age is drawing to its close. Elladan and Elrohir have chosen mortality as has their sister and in the wake of this choice another Elf’s choice is slowly coming into the open.

Why I love this story:  Uli is, in my opinion, the Queen of Angst, so be forwarned!  In short, break out the tissues for this one.  It’s far more angsty than I can usually handle, but the story is so well crafted that I was sucked in from the first paragraph. From the opening lines, on to Erestor's revelation, and straight to the surprise ending, this story is gripping and emotional and is sure to please angst-lovers everywhere.
Link:  http://ford-of-bruinen.fluffydragon.co.uk/ then click on 'finished series' to read

Uli, honey, I hope it was all right to link to your site.  I couldn’t find the story archived on either OEAM or LoM.
